Deciding to become a deacon is not just an individual choice; it must be a response to a call from the Lord.
What surprised you the most about the permanent diaconate?
The permanent diaconate has not been, in any way, as I had planned it would be; but it has provided a surprising range of experiences and opportunities for service and spiritual growth.
