Spanish Teacher (Grades 6-8)

Hours per week: 40 hours

Position Summary:

St. Raphael Catholic School in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Spanish Teacher for grades 6-8. The individual in this role will perform professional responsibilities including but not limited to delivering engaging lessons that develop a strong foundation for future language classes. This role will facilitate preparation of instructional materials, serving on faculty committees, communicating with parents and administration, and maintaining positive relationships with peers, students, parents, and the administration.

Key responsibilities:

• Implement the educational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.
• Plan, prepare, teach, and interact with students in a professional way that challenges students to reach their individual potential.
• Serve as a missionary disciple and serve the students and faculty in creating missionary disciples within our school community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Education, ideally with a specialization in Spanish Instruction is required.
• 3 or more years of teaching experience related to the area of education/teaching is required.
• Must have a valid North Carolina teaching license in content area.
• Practicing Catholics who have prior teaching experience preferred.
• Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check.
• Must complete Diocese sponsored Safe Environment Training upon employment.
