Description
The Immigration Assistant is primarily responsible for providing general support to the DOJ Accredited Representatives through a variety of tasks and activities. The position will assist with the preparation of documents and applications and engage in frequent customer/client contact. They must project a professional image on behalf of the agency through in-person and phone interactions.
Qualifications
Associates or other 2-year degree with 1-3 years of experience in the human services field is required. The candidate must be fluent in Spanish and English, both oral and written communications. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide diversity of people from different ethnic backgrounds is essential. The ideal candidate will have excellent speaking and active listening skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to multi-task and work under pressure. Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic social teachings and practices, as well as the mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh, is necessary. A valid NC Driver’s License and a vehicle in working order for business use are required, along with authorization to work in the U.S. Proven computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and other appropriate applications, are needed. Job responsibilities may involve travel and some work beyond the regularly scheduled workdays, including weekends and evenings as scheduled and as needed.
