Pope Francis met with nearly 1,000 newly-confirmed or soon-to-be-confirmed members of the Church from the Archdiocese of Genoa, Italy.
He challenged the youth to stand up against gossiping and fighting, warning that they are works of the devil.
"Above all, be united, don't fight with each other," the pope said. "Do you know who invented fighting? Who knows? The devil. The devil wants us to fight so he will be happy."
Before closing the meeting in front of his Casa Santa Marta residence, Pope Francis encouraged those present to pray to the Blessed Mother and said a Hail Mary with the group.
