Father Price Society celebrates annual Mass

The annual Mass and Luncheon for the Father Thomas F. Price Society was held Oct. 30 at the Catholic Center. The society, now under the umbrella of The Foundation, comprises people who have made a planned gift or bequest in their will for the benefit of their parish, school or any diocesan ministry.

Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama was principal celebrant and homilist for the Mass. In his homily he thanked members for their generosity. He said that they were like Father Price because, through their generosity, they are helping to ensure a future for Catholics in North Carolina.

Father Philip Tighe, director of Vocations and Seminarian Formation, gave the keynote address after lunch. He shared personal glimpses into his battle with cancer and his gratitude for the prayers from members of the diocese. He also thanked donors, telling them their gifts directly benefit the young men who are discerning a vocation to the priesthood.
