Position Summary:
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School is seeking an Instructional Technology Coordinator. The Instructional Technology Coordinator will provide vision and leadership in collaboration with School and Parish Administration for instructional technology and related strategic planning, including professional learning and implementation of related educational technologies to enhance StMS teaching and learning.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the point of contact for RenWeb/FACTS questions related to student and class records and prepare and distribute report cards at the end of each quarter.
- Administer and maintain Google G-Suite accounts for all students and staff, along with other instructional tools such as integrated software.
- Administrator for all school software/applications and technology programs such as, but not limited to, the following: FACTS, FACTS custom mobile app, School Pass, Renaissance, BrainPop, Hapara, Benchmark, iReady, Asset Tiger, Canva, Adobe Express, artificial intelligence (AI), ARK (Assessment for Religious Knowledge), SSO (Single Sign On), Lalilo, Vivi, and School Pass.
- Add, remove, and maintain accounts for school-wide software listed above.
- Lead and organize school-wide Google SSO (Single Sign On) for teachers and students.
- Facilitate professional learning opportunities to support faculty and parents in best practices for blended learning, technology instruction and integration, pedagogy, and the use of available media and technologies.
- Manage group acceptable use policies, logins, organizational units, filtering software, and permissions for user accounts in RenWeb and G-Suite.
- Troubleshoot, prioritize, and provide software and/or hardware tech support to faculty, staff, and students.
- Research and recommend school-specific technologies aligned with teachers’ and students’ needs to Administration and/or Director of Operations so that the school’s technology-related purchases are most efficient and relevant for the school.
- Collaborate with and delegate appropriate support tasks to support staff.
- Facilitate and document ongoing technology meetings with Leadership team and/or members of technology /IT support, which focuses on accomplishing StMS technology tasks through short-term and long-term planning.
- Monitor online security software and student alerts through Hapara.
- Review report card gradebooks and comments for accuracy and timeliness, reporting inconsistencies to Administration.
- Be familiar with PreK-Grade 8 Diocese of Raleigh Information and Technology curriculum standards.
- Teach multiple Tech Skills classes and work with Math team to support students and teachers.
- Develop and Coordinate StMS Instructional Technology plan, in collaboration with school leadership, including related budgetary items.
- Serve on the School Advisory Council to contribute to and understand school’s vision and mission for continual improvement and alignment with the School’s Strategic Action Plan.
- Support School staff with implementation, logging in, and using the Diocese’s Frontline application.
- Other responsibilities/duties include recess/lunch supervision, before and after-school carpool, and participation in Leadership team meetings.
- Facilitate technology training sessions for school staff and parents to enhance understanding and effective use of school-related technology.
Other duties and responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administration.
- Review of all purchase requests for StMS IT equipment and software prior to the purchase request being forwarded to Operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum level of Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Education, Media and/or Instructional Technology, or a similar field which provides the candidate with considerable knowledge of appropriate uses of media and technology to enhance instruction and achievement, as well as considerable knowledge of the current tools, software, hardware, trends, methods and developments in the area of media and instructional technology.
- 3 or more years of professional experience related to media and/or technology coordinator licensure.
- Employment is contingent upon applicants satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred:
- Media and/or Technology Coordinator Licensure (076)
- Advanced degrees and certifications in related field(s)
- Working knowledge of technology infrastructure and devices
- A practicing Catholic preferred with thorough knowledge of the Catholic faith and ability to communicate it to wider audience in both words and actions.
