Preschool Morning Care Assistant

Hours per week: 7.5 hrs.

Position Summary:

St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Preschool is seeking a Preschool Morning Care Assistant. The Morning Care Assistant will support the Early Care Program in caring for the safety and physical well-being of the children between the hours of 8 am and 9:30 am, as well as engage the children in play and activities that are developmentally appropriate. 

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor and supervise the assigned students upon their arrival and through play periods both inside a classroom and outside on the playground.  
• Work closely with other Morning Care assistants to execute classroom and playground safety standards, including supervising students during times of transition.
• Provide interaction with students upon arrival and throughout the early care play time.   
• Maintain attendance records.

Other Duties and responsibilities

• Communicate with teachers about the needs of students.
• Gather and return supplies needed/used during morning care.

Minimum Requirements:

• Previous experience in a play-based early childhood center.
• A practicing Catholic preferred with thorough knowledge of the Catholic faith and ability to communicate it to wider audience in both words and actions.
• Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
• Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
