Position Summary:
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, NC is seeking a bilingual, long-term temporary receptionist to serve in a full-time capacity serving visitors and parishioners by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately. The position will act as the face of the parish for community members.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage front desk.
- Maintains security by following procedures for visitors and monitoring logbook.
- Answer phone, take messages, and forward all messages to appropriate department by email.
- Answer “office” email and distribute emails to appropriate department.
- Monitors and distributes “Ministry Interest” requests to appropriate staff.
- Assist with New Member registration and management via Realm at the front desk.
- Assist with Mass Intention and Altar Flower management via Mass Intentions Online.
- Updates parish website calendar of events.
- Assist parishioners with Event Registration.
- Assists with SET paperwork and follow-up.
- Works with SHARES Coordinator; assists with scheduling appointments and ensuring appointments are completed on time.
- Responsible for hospitality – offering guests water, coffee, and snacks when appropriate.
- Responsible for 1st floor conference room stocking of hospitality items (pens, notebooks, etc.)
- Organize and distribute items left by staff for pick-up in mailroom.
- Responsible for the 1st floor mailroom upkeep, organization and stocking.
- Receive mail and remove from unwanted mailing lists.

Minimum Requirements
- 1 or more years of related work experience relating to Office or Secretarial Support
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and body language.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, knowledge of or ability to learn Realm and Mass Intentions Online.
- Interpersonal skills; ability to work with volunteers, staff and parishioners.
- Bilingual (Spanish English).
- Strong customer relation skills.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training
